THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 131 individuals from February 16 to 22, 2025, as part of its intensified crackdown on illegal drugs, gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.
DCPO City Director, Police Colonel Hansel M. Marantan, reaffirmed the office’s commitment to public safety.
“These accomplishments reflect the DCPO’s dedication to upholding the law while respecting human rights and following proper police procedures,” Marantan stated. “Let’s continue working together for a safer and more secure community.”
During the campaign, police conducted 31 anti-drug operations, leading to the arrest of 44 suspects and the confiscation of 207.34 grams of shabu worth P1.4 million and 4,116.4 grams of marijuana valued at P3,996.40.
In its fight against illegal gambling, the DCPO arrested 38 individuals in 28 operations, seizing P211,570 in bet money and filing 28 cases.
Meanwhile, efforts to apprehend fugitives resulted in the arrest of 48 individuals, including 14 of the city’s most wanted.
The campaign against loose firearms led to one arrest, the rescue of a child in conflict with the law (CICL), and the confiscation of three illegal firearms. Authorities also received three voluntarily surrendered firearms and nine others for safekeeping under “Oplan Katok.” Two cases related to illegal firearms have been filed. DEF
