THE Department of Science and Technology (DOST), through its Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), is inviting inventors, researchers, and students to showcase their innovative creations in the 2025 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits by Cluster (ClusteRICE). This competition offers a platform for Filipino innovators to gain recognition, with the winners advancing to the National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) in 2026.
ClusteRICE, conducted under Republic Act No. 7459, the "Inventors and Invention Incentives Act of the Philippines," will see participants grouped into five regional clusters: National Capital Region (NCR), Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Cash prizes and national recognition will be awarded to the top inventors and researchers.
DOST-Davao Regional Director Dr. Anthony Sales encouraged Mindanaoan innovators to participate.
“ClusteRICE is a good opportunity to showcase ingenuity and creativity. We urge inventors and researchers to step forward, demonstrate their ideas, and contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the Philippines,” Dr. Sales said.
The competition features five categories: Invention (Tuklas), Utility Model (Unlad), Industrial Design (Banghay), Creative Research (Likha), and Student Creative Research (Sibol). The deadline for submission of entries is March 15, 2025.
