The highly anticipated three-city EastWest Dream Run 2025 will kick off in Davao City on April 6 in an out-and-back course from Azuela Cove in Lanang, offering a dynamic race experience for all—from casual runners and dog lovers to serious competitors.
Race organizer Coach Rio dela Cruz of Run Rio, speaking at a press conference at Blue Lotus Hotel’s Sky View Restaurant on March 18, highlighted the significance of holding the event in key running cities to mark EastWest Bank's 30th anniversary.
When we were planning how to celebrate the 30th anniversary of EastWest, the most impactful is to celebrate it nationwide. When we identified the cities and locations, without thinking twice, Davao should be a part of it,
dela Cruz said. "Aside from NCR (National Capital Region), running is also booming in Davao, and there are a lot of running enthusiasts joining races."
He underscored their goal of delivering a high-quality event to keep runners motivated and committed to their training.
"We don't want to miss the opportunity of bringing this experience to you," he added, noting that they will transport their race equipment from Manila to ensure a top-notch event in Davao.
Closer to the community
EastWest Bank’s marketing head, Meanne Bundalian, said the milestone event is about giving back to the community.
"This year is extra special because we celebrate the 30 years of EastWest. Part of the overall strategy is going through different locations, hyperlocalization, bringing the celebration closer to the market that we serve and Davao has a special place in East West," Bundalian said.
She highlighted the city's strong running culture, adding,
We believe in the enthusiasm of Dabawenyos for racing and running, and we want to fuel that passion even more by organizing events like this.

EastWest, a subsidiary of Filinvest, is also celebrating a major milestone this year—its 70th anniversary. With 13 branches in Davao City, the bank has seen rapid growth, further strengthening its presence in the region.
As part of the Dream Run 2025, Run Rio has once again teamed up with Kinetix Sports, led by Kenneth Sai, to ensure a well-organized and memorable event.
The race will feature 1K dog, 2K, 5K, 10K, and 30K, catering to runners of all levels.
Regular registration fees are ₱2,000 for the 30K, ₱1,200 for the 10K, ₱1,000 for the 5K and 1K dog run, and ₱900 for the 2K. Each participant will receive a singlet, bib, and timing chip, while dogs will get a special bandana as part of their race kit.
