CENTRAL MINDANAO — Authorities are still unsure about the motive behind the fatal shooting of female engineer Shiela Ramos Bautista on Monday, December 30, 2024.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Dominador Palgar Jr., the victim was driving her Toyota Fortuner along Km 114, Barangay Paco when unidentified suspects ambushed her, firing a .45 caliber pistol.
Bautista, who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, died instantly, and the suspects fled on a motorcycle towards Matalam, Cotabato.
Witnesses heard the gunshots and found the victim bloodied inside her vehicle. Bautista, also a professor and department head at the University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC), had been on her way to deliver a shoe order to an unidentified customer.
The Kidapawan City Police are continuing their investigation into the incident. EEF
