BABY Boomers, Generation X, and Millennials joined the celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary and the Grand Alumni homecoming of Lake View Adventist Academy in Don Carlos, Bukidnon last July 19-22,2018. Batch 1972 alumni based in the United States of America and Canada also came home and played a very significant role in the planning, unfolding, and closing of the events.
The families of Dr. Jun and Evelyn Lucrida, Dr. Honar Saberola, Virgie Cañete Bofetiado, who formed the USA-Canada LVAA Alumni Chapter brought with them the donation of their members who were not able to come and celebrate. Their financial assistance added warmth to the celebration the gesture of their gratitude to their alma mater for the success they attained and enjoyed in life.
Bofetiado, the USA-Canada Chapter president said they came home to celebrate, meet batchmates, friends and people and to see for themselves what more they can give to the school.
"We came home to leave a legacy for others to follow," she said. "The school trained us of service in this world," Bofetiado added.
More than 500 people were served during the Medical Mission program spearheaded by Dr. Lucrida, Dr. Saberola, the Batch 72 alumni with the assistance of the Adventist Medical Center, Valencia, Bukidnon held at the covered court of Don Carlos SDA Elementary School.
LVAA is operated by the North Central Mindanao Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist established in 1967 with seven teachers to fill the need for Adventist education of the constituents for their children, especially in Don Carlos and the province of Bukidnon. It catered to 141 initial batch of students in the first and second years only and the first graduation was in 1971. The products of the school are now scattered all over the world practicing their respective professions which include lawyers, doctors, teachers, pastors, business men and some in government agencies and politicians.
Four days seemed short for the alumni to replenish several decades of separation however they parted with hearts overflowing in joy for the generosity of the well-off people who think of their fellow alumni who were not as fortunate and blessed as they are.
