DAVAO City First District Representative Paolo Duterte revealed that former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) continues to endorse the “DuterTEN” senatorial lineup—now expanded to include two additional candidates: former senator and former DICT Secretary Gringo Honasan, and retired Colonel Ariel Querubin.
According to Paolo, the former president is thankful for the support he has received and urges the public to rally behind the full slate, including Honasan and Querubin. He also emphasized that Rodrigo Duterte is particularly encouraging voters to back his close friend, Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.
“Pinapaalam niya sa buang sambayanang Pilipino na patuloy supportahan ang PDP-Laban DuterTEN senators plus two (He wants the entire Filipino nation to continue supporting the PDP-Laban DuterTEN senators—plus two),” Paolo said during a live interview on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
Paolo added that the former president is in good health and even joked that he now looks more like a “bad boy” than Senator Robin Padilla did during his detention days.
This marked Paolo’s first visit to see his father in the Netherlands. He noted that their mother, Elizabeth Zimmerman, has already returned to the Philippines, while their uncle Bong Duterte is set to visit on May 13. Vice President Sara Duterte is expected to follow soon after.
Earlier this year, House Speaker Martin Romualdez granted Paolo Duterte travel clearance for a personal trip to 18 countries from March 20 to May 10, 2025. The travel clearance (No. IPRS-0325-PT7599), signed by House Secretary General Reginald S. Velasco, allowed Duterte to visit destinations including Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and Singapore.
FPRRD was transferred to The Hague on March 11, 2025, where he is facing charges of alleged crimes against humanity. He attended a pre-trial hearing virtually on March 14, 2025.RGP
