THE Junior Chamber International (JCI) Davao Region is all set to celebrate JCI Week 2025 from April 6 to 12, uniting local chapters through a week-long series of impactful events under the theme "Build Better Together."
This year’s celebration aims to strengthen community engagement, promote leadership development, and foster collaboration among JCI members through a diverse lineup of activities.
“This year’s JCI Week is about strengthening the visibility of JCI and empowering our members. That’s why our theme is ‘Build Better Together,’” said George Gerard Lewis, 2025 LO President of JCI Central Davao, during a press conference held at GMall Bajada on Monday, April 7.
A week of purpose-driven activities
The celebration kicked off on April 6 with a Thanksgiving Mass at Sacred Heart Parish, followed by a Fun Walk to Boozter Bar and an Opening Night at the SK Complex in Bajada.
April 7, dubbed Media Day, featured a press conference at Red Corner Burger Café and a leadership training session at Lispher Inn, Juna Subdivision.
On April 8, JCI will host a Job Fair at the Atrium of NCCC Victoria Plaza Mall starting at 8:30 AM and conduct a courtesy call to the Sangguniang Panlungsod at 9:30 AM.
April 9 focuses on public service and social engagement, with a bloodletting drive at 9:30 AM and a fun-filled Trivia Night at Suazo Bar at 8:00 PM.
The advocacy continues on April 10 with “Beyond Prison Walls,” a community outreach program at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DAPECOL) at 9 a.m.
April 11 highlights environmental awareness through the “Think Green” initiative at Brgy. Bucana at 10:00 AM, followed by an E-Games Night at Startupz Co-working Space in Obrero at 7 p.m.
The week will culminate on April 12 with a Culmination and Sportsfest at the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao headquarters in Panacan, Davao City, starting at 7 a.m.
JCI Davao Region is inviting all local chapters and members to actively participate in the activities and help foster positive change through collective leadership and service.
Seeks support from govt, NGOs
As JCI continues to expand its community impact, it is calling for support from government and non-government organizations to sustain its initiatives and address pressing community needs.
During the press conference on April 7, Engr. Anthony John Christopher Castro, 2025 JCI Davao LO President, shared that the organization is in need of financial support to fully realize its community programs.
“JCI doesn’t have that much funding, so we’re seeking partners. We hope the government and other stakeholders can help us acquire the resources needed to carry out our projects,” Castro stated.
JCI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community development, leadership training, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration. It engages directly with communities to identify key issues, design responsive programs, and deliver sustainable solutions.
One of its notable accomplishments includes a solar housing project in Tibungco, which provided solar-powered homes to residents in partnership with a local organization.
