THE regional chapter of Kabataan Partylist has reaffirmed its dedication to the 10-point youth agenda ahead of the 2025 local and national elections.
Jayvie Cabajes, the partylist’s fifth nominee, said that despite the dominance of traditional and corrupt politics, the youth is proof that there is still hope for change. He underscored that Filipinos can unite despite their differences.
“For the past years since 2007, Kabataan Partylist has been in Congress despite having little to no financial resources, unlike the traditional politicians and political dynasties who have the guns, goons, and gold,” Cabajes said during the proclamation rally on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Roxas Freedom Park.
He said the 10-point youth agenda is a comprehensive platform that will guide their campaign, advocacy, and legislative efforts. The agenda aligns with Kabataan Partylist's mission to serve the country and the youth.
It includes a commitment to providing free, accessible, and quality education for all, ensuring livable wages and job opportunities, and defending national sovereignty. Additionally, the agenda calls for genuine agrarian reform and national industrialization, alongside initiatives to improve both physical and mental health services.
The party is also committed to ensuring access to basic social services, promoting justice and accountability, and fostering just and lasting peace while ending tyranny. Climate action is another key component, as well as advocating for the end of gender-based discrimination.
Cabajes stated that they have already sparked meaningful change and will continue to fight for a better future for the Philippines.
Kabataan Partylist has been serving in Congress for 14 years and authored several landmark laws, including the Free College Education Law, the Sangguniang Kabataan Compensation and Empowerment Law, the Free Public WiFi Law, the Free College Entrance Exam Law, and the Basic Education Mental Health Services Law.
