THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) is urging the public to immediately report incidents involving missing family members to the nearest police station so that prompt investigations can be conducted.
This was revealed by DCPO spokesperson Police Captain Hazel Tuazon following a series of Facebook posts claiming individuals had gone missing in Davao City, with the latest post involving a 2-year-old child.
Captain Tuazon said the DCPO could not yet issue a statement regarding the post since no official police report or blotter has been filed.
“Dili pa ta kahatag og statement ani kung wala pa kini napa-blotter para ma-imbestigahan sa station kung asa kini nahitabo (We cannot release any statement on this if it hasn’t been officially recorded (blottered), so that the station where it happened can investigate it),” Capt. Tuazon said.
According to the official, they are aware of such posts circulating online, prompting them to check with the concerned police stations to see if the incidents have been reported so they can investigate immediately.
“Subayon pa nato ang atong mga police stations kung na-blotter ba ni kay naay mga post pero wala magpa-blotter (We are still checking with our police stations if these were blottered because there are posts, but no official reports),” Tuazon added.
Earlier, a certain DyeyPee Corpuz made a post stating that his child had gone missing and that they are willing to offer a reward to anyone who can provide information about the child’s whereabouts.
“Muli po akong humingi ng tulong sa inyo na ibahagi sa iba ang post na ito para sa aking nag iisang anak na dal'wang taong gulang na magdadalawang buwan na pong nawawala. Handa po kaming magbigay ng pabuya sa kung sino man ang makakapagbigay ng inpormasyon kung nasaan ang aking anak (I am once again asking for your help to share this post for my one and only child who is two years old and has been missing for nearly two months. We are ready to offer a reward to anyone who can provide information on where my child is),” wrote DyeyPee Corpuz in his post.
The post also named the missing child as Fourth Yohan Kyt Corpuz, also known as Yohan or Duding-Nyonyang, who is 2 years old.
According to the post, the child was last seen wearing a striped (blue, green, white) fitted jacket and blue jersey shorts at Purok 6-B, Brgy. 5-A, Bankerohan, Davao City.
A contact number was also included in the post for anyone who may have information about the child’s whereabouts: 09099378715.
Meanwhile, Tuazon said the Toril Police Station is also conducting an investigation regarding another Facebook post alleging that several children have gone missing in the Toril area.
In a Facebook post by Nards Llenos Te, he stated, “Still no sign even with a GPS tracker, plus there’s barely any signal in the area. Hopefully the kids will be found tomorrow.”
