PASTEL colors can be more appealing in the eyes. However, in fashion, a lot of people prefer the neutrals.
White, black, gray and brown, and all shades under them, are considered neutral colors. These are referred to as earth colors at times.
I asked some friends who love dressing up. They are among those individuals who really plan ahead about what to wear even during regular days.
Events planner and stylist Rosheen Paman has three main options when it comes to picking her fashionable neutrals.
#1 Black or white top + shorts and sneakers
#2 sleeveless or spaghetti strap + not fitted shorts or pants (square pants) and slippers or step in
#3 dress + sneakers or step in
For this mom of two, these are not only trendy but comfortable and easy to wear as well.
"For me kasi ito iyong mga smart casual wear. Aside sa comfy, it's also flexible and very easy for me to transform depende sa pupuntahan ko. Sometimes, I just grab a blazer if my business meeting ako for my outfit to look casual business," she said.
With the many things she needs to attend to everyday, she wants an ensemble that makes her achieve a different look quickly.
"Para less heavy ang day mo you need to wear light clothes para refreshing sa feeling and also sa eyes ng ibang tao. At last thing is mabilis ako matapos magbihis 'pag ganyan lang suot ko kasi iisipin ko lang kung ano'ng bag or shoes ang gagamitin ko," she noted.
For fitness buff Maureen Jean Lara, black leggings and a very comfy plain-colored top paired with white sneakers and a cardigan are what she needs to be on the go.
"Black is classic and on the practical side, I won't be too concerned about dirt and what nots sa airport. Cardigan is light enough to carry around or just put it over your waist or arms if warm ang airport. Sneakers kasi easy to take off when required sa airport and honestly, it's difficult to wear heels when traveling especially kung nagaguyod ka og luggage. Makawala og poise. At least of sneakers, it's still fashionable but you dont compromise comfort," she noted.
For professional photographer Banawe Corvera-Curato, a plain white shirt or polo/blouse paired with skinny/flared jeans and flats or sneakers complete a perfectly comfortable ensemble.
Naw, as how everyone calls her, shared that such pieces make her feel fresh and clean, apart from being "very easy to accessorize."
Personally, we have similar reasons. I stock on neutrals because they are versatile. In short, I can easily mix and match them with any accessories, depending on the occasion I am attending.
