306 driver's licenses confiscated

A TOTAL of 306 driver's licenses were confiscated by authorities during the city wide Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan which was conducted on May 2 in a bid to clear the city from suspected car napped and unregistered vehicles.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan, said local law enforcers conducted the Lambat Bitag Operations in the areas of Police Stations 1 to 10.

Aside from the driver's license, there were also a total of 61 impounded assorted vehicles composed of 48 single motorcycles; nine motorcycles with sidecars; four 4-wheel vehicles; and 198 were issued with citation tickets for different traffic violations.

The impounded vehicles were endorsed to Traffic Group for proper settlement.

The operation was a joint effort of the security forces and law enforcement units led by DCPO with Task Force Davao, Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office and Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
