DAVAO City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag was disappointed with the absence of majority of the councilors that prompted the adjournment of the regular City Council session on Tuesday, October 16.
"I am disappointed with the absence of some members of the council especially that they just finished filing their COC yesterday," Al-ag said on a chat message to VoxPop Davao on Tuesday.
"I called for an adjourn because we cannot," muster a quorum," Al-ag said.
Majority of the members of the council have filed their certificate of candidacy (COC) last Monday as scheduled by the Hugpong Alliance.
"I am reminding the members of the council to prioritize their attendance in council session since that is our main mandate as council members," he added.
During the first roll call, only 10 councilors were present and only 13 on the second roll call.
The councilors present at the session hall were Nilo Abellera, Dante Apostol Sr., Pilar Braga, April Marie Dayap, Edgar Ibuyan Jr., Edgar Ibuyan Sr., Rene Elias Lopez, Jaffar Marohomsalic, Bonifacio Militar, J. Melchor Quitan Jr., Halila Sudagar, and Mary Joselle Villafuerte.
Councilors Al Ryan Alejandre, Joanne Bonguyan-Quilos and Avegayle Ortiz-Omalza were on emergency domestic leave, while Principe-Castrodes was on an official business.
