THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) bared that there will be no extension of the voters' registration that ended Saturday, September 29, 2018.
Krisna Samantha Caballero, Comelec regional election attorney in Davao City, said that they already expected a lot of people to rush on its last day, however, the cut-off was still 5 p.m.
"The Comelec is doing our best to cater all registrants. The Comelec even reached out to a more comfortable place like the malls na mas malapit sa kanila and para maka-accommodate tayo ng madaming tao (near them to accommodate more people)," Caballero said.
The satellites of Comelec are located at Magsaysay Park for the district district registrants, SM Lanang Premier for second district registrants and Gaisano Mall Toril for the third district.
At Magsaysay Park, some registrants still arrived and queued despite the cut-off mark put by the Comelec staff to the person on the last line.
The last registrant for the last day, Ceijay Michael Pinoon, 20, said that he was okay with the system.
The system of continuing registration of voters for the May 13, 2019 National and Local Elections resumed on July 2, 2018 as per Resolution No. 10392 dated June 19, 2018.
