DAVAO City's Edilberto "Scooby Doo" Coquia Jr. of I.Flex Spartam will square off with veteran Victor Torre of Gladiator-Mumma Cagayan de Oro City in the main event of the 3rd Juan Mixed Martial Arts Challenge 2018 on Sunday at the Rizal Park.
This was bared by organizer Butch Mendoza who represented I.Flex president Marco Tamayo during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum held at The Annex of SM City Davao on Thursday, August 23.
Mendoza said the Coquia-Torre match is on top of seven other fights that will feature fighters from different places of Mindanao.
Coquia, who has been training with current One FC bantamweight champion Kevin "The Silencer" Belingon and former and former lightweight champion Edward "The Landslide" Folayang of Team Lakay for the past five months, said he is ready to compete against 38-year-old Torre in the 125-kg flyweight division.
"It is my time now and it's his (Torre) time to retire," the 18-year-old joked.
