WITH complaints of arriving and departing passengers at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport or Davao International Airport (DIA) on the lack of pushcarts, Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista said more push carts/baggage trolleys will be coming to the airport.

Bautista said he is expecting that at the next board meeting of the Davao International Airport Authority (DIAA), they will be signing for the purchase of the added pushcarts.

He said one temporary measure with the the exigency of an incoming big event in Davao City, will be the deployment of pushcarts from the Cotabato Airport to the DIA.

“Nakausap ko yung airport manager Rex Obcena kanina eto na nga kailangan nang umorder ng additional pushcarts, next week dahil merong malaking event dito (Davao) kukunin muna yung pushcarts from Cotabato bago mag start kasi yung airport sa Cotabato mag-start na siya by October 18,” Bautista said.

Several passengers had lamented about the lacking trolleys at the airport which makes it difficult for those carrying several or heavy luggage.

Bautista was in the city together with the country’s economic managers for the Post-SONA Philippine Economic Briefing (PEB) Roadshow held today (August 9) at the DusitD2 Davao Ballroom.(PR)
