AFTER a two-week lockdown due to Covid-19 exposure, the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center (DOPMC) in Mati, Davao Oriental is set to resume its operation Monday, February 8, 2021.
In a press release issued by the provincial government, Davao Oriental Health Officer II Dr. Reden Bersaldo announced that the hospital is set to reopen in full operation following the lockdown due to the many hospital frontliners exposed to the virus.
"It will be a full operation opening with better and improved health guidelines," he said, noting that there will be stricter regulations and health protocols that will be observed in the facility not only for patients but also for health workers and hospital staff.
Of the 41 confirmed cases among hospital staff members, only 14 are still active cases, Bersaldo said.
He added that based on the investigation, these hospital staff might have been exposed in the community or the facility.
DOPMC temporarily ceased its operations on January 25 to give way for massive disinfection, isolation and risk testing to all remaining employees and contacts. During this period, no new admissions nor emergency cases were catered to.
