THE Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation in Davao City will propose a drug test on all SK officers to dispel allegations of illegal drug use within their ranks after an SK officer was arrested in a drug bust on August 27, 2018.
"Kami gabie, nag-istorya mi about sa SK Kagawad na nadakpan, so we (want to) require na mag-conduct og drug-testing (last night, we talked about the SK officer who was arrested, so we want to require to conduct drug-testing)," SK Federation president Jaffar Marohomsalic said during an interview with Sun.Star Davao on August 28.
"Para if ever nay positive pa, among matagaan og appropriate actions (so that if there are still other SK officers who will be found out positive [of illegal drugs use], we could take appropriate actions)," he added.
He also urged other SK leaders to support President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs that started in Davao City when he was still a mayor.
"As a leader sa kabatan-onan, dapat mamahimo ta nga maayong modelo sa katawhan (As leaders of the youth, we should be good role models to the public)," said, adding that the youths are looking up to the youth leaders.
Marohomsalic said that he will provide an official statement after their meeting that has yet to be scheduled.
