SUPERINTENDENT Gerardo Padilla of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (Dapecol) admitted difficulty in curbing illegal drugs trade inside the facility after six inmates of the facility's Medium Security Compound tested positive for drugs.
Padilla said they have learned that the female partners of some inmates smuggle illegal drugs into the prison by keeping these hidden in their private parts.
"Nahihirapan talaga kami, dahil na-found out natin na pinapasok pala sa ari sa mga dalaw natin," Padilla said.
(We are really having a hard time because we found out that the women visitors hide the illegal drugs in their vagina.)
Six inmates tested positive in a surprise drug test conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao Region (PDEA 11). A total of 51 inmates and personnel were subjected to the test.
Padilla said that whenever they find inmates doing some misdeeds, they have corresponding punishment for this.
"Sususpendihin natin ang dalaw, at yung inmates na nahuhuli natin ibabartolina natin," he said.
He admitted that they have no way of knowing if visitors have drugs stashed in their private parts. But he said they will be doing their best to improve their inspections.
