INSPECTION Report Summons (IRS) tickets issued by Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)- Davao Region decreased by 27 percent to 273 in 2018 from 376 in 2017.
"Nag decrease siya probably because of the Drivers' Academy Program nag learn na atong mga drivers, so effective gyud atong training (The Drivers' Academy Program has effectively taught our drivers on the traffic violations; hence, the decrease in IRS tickets)," LTFRB- Davao Region director lawyer Cattleya Acaylar said.
The IRS ticket is being issued to the public utility vehicle drivers who have committed traffic violations.
Based on the data of LTFRB, 17,783 drivers participated in the Driver's Academy Program in 2018. Out of the total number, 15,555 drivers passed. Last year's total was much higher at 2,841 participants with 2,446 passers.
LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra said the Drivers' Academy has modules that provide drivers information on LTFRB policies, road safety, road rage and anger management, traffic signs, road pavements, and good grooming.
