THE number of complaints recorded by Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) against Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) increased by 10.4 percent in 2018.
LTFRB Davao Regional Director lawyer Cattelya Acaylar said during a yearend press conference said that number of complaints recorded by their office increased in 2018 to 414 complaints from 375 complaints in 2017.
Based on their data, the highest nature of complaints reported by people to their office in 2018 was reckless driving with 33 percent to be followed by breach of franchise conditions with 22 percent while employing arrogant or discourteous driver was placed in third with 15 percent. Refusal to convey passenger garnered eight percent and overcharging of fare earned six percent while cutting trip and refusal to grant discount both tied up in four percent.
Compared in the 2017 data, breach of franchise conditions was the highest nature of complaint with 27 percent followed by reckless driving (24 percent) while employing arrogant or discourteous driver earned 18 percent to be followed by overcharging of fare with nine percent and colorum PUVs with eight percent. Cutting trip had three percent while refusal to grant discount and left item both with one percent.
LTFRB-Davao Region resolved 342 of 414 complaints in 2018 while the complaints in 2017 were fully resolved.
