THE Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) said it still needs four more speed guns and more automated tow trucks.
CTTMO chair Dionisio Abude, during an interview with Sun.Star Davao on Monday, September 3, said their office currently owns five speed guns and four tow trucks.
"Kung makaguyod mi og baynte, asa namo ibutang? So karon, ang ginahimo namo, butangan na lang namo og alarm [citation ticket]. Ibilin namo sa windshield (If we happen to tow 20 vehicles, where will we put them? So what we are doing now is to issue alarm [citation receipts] on their windshields)," Abude said.
He also said that illegal parking violations in the city have been prevalent so they plan to request more tow trucks that automatically lift the vehicle so as to avoid damage.
"Instead na ang tao ang muagi sa sidewalk, ang sakyanan na hinoon ang naka-park (Instead of people, vehicles now use the sidewalks as parking spaces)," Abude said.
He added that they also need more speed guns to cater to all the daily traffic violations in the city.
"Dapat lahi na ang ma-purchase nato, dapat kanang high-tech na speed guns (We need to purchase the high-tech speed guns)," he said, adding that they want a speed gun that immediately issues receipt for convenience and faster violation action.
Abude said they understand that speed guns and tow trucks may cost a lot but there is already a necessity to acquire it.
