A CASH prize of P200,000 each will be given to the next Mutya ng Davao 2019 and the first Ginoong Davao.
In line with the 82nd Araw ng Davao, the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) will open the screening for Mutya ng Davao 2019 candidates on February 10, 2019 at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, while Ginoong Davao screening will start on February 18 but the venue is still to be announced.
CTOO head Generose Tecson, in a text message to Sunstar Davao Tuesday, January 29, said there will only be 30 official candidates to be chosen after the screening.
She encouraged all interested individuals to submit their application forms to their office, adding that she's hoping for many interested applicants for Ginoong Davao as it is one of the new activities for Araw ng Davao.
"It is really important for us to have a pageant for men because it helps us showcase the values of Dabawenyo men, their advocacies and social responsibility," Tecson added.
For Mutya ng Davao 2019 guidelines, interested individuals must be 18 to 28-year-old Filipina residing in the city for at least one year prior to February 16. The applicant is also required to have advocacy focusing on women's welfare and social responsibility.
Ginoong Davao requires the applicant to be 18 to 28 years old, a Filipino residing in the city for at least one year prior to February 16.
He must also be at least 5'8 in height and must have strong advocacy in supporting a cause in life. Other guidelines to be followed and the application forms are posted on the Davao City Tourism Facebook page available for download.
The coronation night of Mutya ng Davao 2019 will be on March 2 at the RMC Petro Gazz Area while Ginoong Davao will have its coronation night on the following day, March 3, at the Almendras Gym.
