EIGHT out of 10 Dabawenyos, or 82.9 percent, said they are very satisfied with President Rodrigo Duterte, according to the results of the Ateneo de Davao University City Wide Social Service Series-9 (CWSS-9).
The survey also showed that 13.5 percent Dabawenyos are somewhat satisfied; 1.4 percent somewhat dissatisfied; 0.6 percent are very dissatisfied; and 0.5 percent refused to give an answer.
Combining the very satisfied and satisfied ratings, the president garnered a total of 96.4 percent satisfaction rating, which is high and is similar to past CWSS survey results.
Duterte got 96.82 satisfaction ratings in CWSS 6 done in October- November 2016; 97.62 satisfaction rating in CWSS 7 done in April 2017; and 97.1 rating on CWSS 8 conducted last October 2017.
The survey also revealed a stark gap in the satisfaction ratings of the President and Vice President Leni Robredo, who only got a 29.2 percent very satisfied rating.
Among the branches of the government, the current administration was given a 55.6 percent satisfactory rating from Dabawenyos; Senate with 24 percent satisfaction; Supreme Court with 21 percent rating; and House of Representatives with 30.2 percent.
On credibility of the administration, 54.0 percent said that the administration is very credible; 32.7 percent said that the administration is credible; 10.3 said that it is not so credible; 0.6 percent said that it is not credible at all; 0.2 percent did not have any opinion; and 1.3 percent said they do not know.
As transparency goes, 55.2 percent said that the administration is very transparent; 35.4 percent said that it is transparent; 7.8 percent said that it is not so transparent; 0.3 said that it is not so transparent at all; and 0.6 refused to answer.
Meanwhile, the war on drugs, Build Build Build projects, and no balance billing in hospitals are actions done by the President that were liked by most Dabawenyos.
The issues Dabawenyos want the government to address within the next six months are higher salary of workers, employment generation, fighting criminality, lowering the prices of commodities, and fighting illegal drugs.
Perceived fulfilled promises by President Rodrigo Duterte according to the Dabawenyos are for overseas Filipino workers (OFW), peace and order, and solving illegal drugs issue.
Jobs/employment, corruption, illegal drugs,are also among the Dabawenyos want the President to address within the following year.
Also, the Dabawenyos wish the President to include in the third State of the Nation Address (Sona) the issues on employment job and opportunities, achievements of the past year, and peace and order.
Meanwhile, a rating of 31.4 percent was given to former Senate President Kiko Pimentel; 28.7 rating for Pantaleon "Bebot" Alvarez, Speaker of the House; and Davao City District Representatives got a collective 52.4 percent very satisfied rating.
Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio got an 89 percent very satisfied rating from Dabawenyos.
Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag got 44.9 percent rating; the entire 18th Davao City Council got a 53 percent rating; and the barangays only got 45.6 a rating.
CWSS 9 was conducted last April 21 to 26, 2018 and was administered by Social Research Training and Development Office (SRTDO).
It was conducted through face to face interviews in random sampling, with ±4, 95 percent level of significance. The survey included 630 adults in three districts and 11 sub-districts of the city.
The results of the CWSS 9 were presented yesterday, May 30, 2018 at the Training Room, 8th floor of the Community Center of the First Companions, Ateneo de Davao University.
