

A 19-YEAR-OLD Grade 10 student from Crossing Bayabas National High School was attacked by a minor in Toril, Davao City on February 22, 2025.
The victim, a resident of Purok 6 Saypon Riverside, Brgy. Crossing Bayabas, Toril, Davao City, immediately reported the incident to the police.
According to Allan (real name withheld), he and his companion, John (not his real name), went to Yacomix Kainan, located on Jupiter St., Crossing Bayabas, Toril, Davao City, to eat after their classes.
Allan said while he was looking at the food, an unidentified man suddenly attacked him, punching him and striking him with a broken hollow block, resulting in an injury on his right eyebrow.
When Allan arrived at the Toril Police Station, he identified Se (not his real name), a 16-year-old and resident of Venus St. in the same barangay, as the one who attacked him.
Se was among the individuals previously endorsed to authorities for involvement in a disturbance that occurred prior to the incident.
The incident was witnessed and recorded on video by bystanders and quickly went viral on social media.
According to the Toril Philippine National Police (PNP), Se is classified as a Child in Conflict with the Law and has a record of involvement in several riots in the Toril area.
The case has been referred to the Women and Children Protection Desk and the General Investigation unit of Toril PNP. Se will be endorsed to the Quick Response Team for Children’s Concern under the Davao City Social Welfare and Development Office. (JPC)
