IN OBSERVANCE of Eid'l Fitr, the end of Ramadan, Muslim devotees gathered on Roxas Avenue in Davao City on Monday, March 31, 2025, to pray and reflect. The event highlighted the deep spiritual significance and cultural richness of the Islamic faith.
For many attendees, the morning prayer was not just a moment of gratitude and renewal, but a testament of resilience.
Ferhana shared her struggles during Ramadan, saying, "As a mother, naa kay student na atimanon tas ga-fasting ka, pero kung love nimo imong ginahimo di kaayo ni siya lisod basta willing ka sa imong ginabuhat.
(As a mother, you have a student to take care of while you're fasting, but if you love what you're doing, it’s not too difficult as long as you're willing to do it.)
Another attendee, Junada, reflected on the significance of the day. For him, Eid is a grand celebration of faith and unity.
"Unta padayon ang atong pagkahiusa ug dili ta mag away-away especially kay nag-end na ang Ramadan. Ipadayon gihapon nato ang atong good deeds even though wala na ang bulan sa Ramadan especially ang pananampalataya nato kay Allah,” Junada said.
(I hope we continue to stay united and not fight, especially now that Ramadan has ended. Let’s continue doing good deeds even though the month of Ramadan is over, and strengthen our faith in Allah.)
In his Eid’l Fitr message on March 31, 2025, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of compassion and unity, urging Filipinos to extend a helping hand to those in need and to uphold the values of dedication and faith to build a more equitable and peaceful nation.
Vice President Sara Duterte also conveyed her heartfelt greetings to the Muslim community through a video message, highlighting the importance of unity and fostering peace.
Security measures were in place throughout the event, with Sta. Ana Station Commander, PMaj. Richeen M. Lagnayo reported that 110 personnel were deployed to ensure the safety of the attendees.
