SO YESTERDAY, the blood moon happened. It was visible at 3:22 a.m. and I absolutely missed it. I had every intention of seeing it except that I forgot to set my alarm and woke up refreshed at 7 a.m., entirely missing out the opportunity to do so!
As luck would have it, some of my friends actually got to take advantage of admiring that ruby moon because I had posted about it. Their pictures were all awesome and for a moment, I felt envious that they had experienced it! Why did I not see it?
I had my reasons. I honestly didn't think I'd be able to because it had been raining that evening. Somehow I had always thought one needed a cloudless sky to see its beauty clearly.
Maybe if I had actually gone out to really look at the sky before assuming anything, I would be posting my moon pictures too! In the morning, I found myself tagged in awesome blood moon pictures taken by my friend!
Needless to say, the pictures were all beautiful! A good friend mentioned how lucky I was for celebrating my birthday with a blood moon on the horizon. Yeah. If only I had seen it! It would have been awesome!
But then again, life is a series of hits and misses and in missing certain aspects of it, what we need to retain are the lessons that we learn from it.
There will always be lessons and from my experience, the ones that I learn best are those borne out of mistakes and misses that I had to endure feelings of disappointment and regret for. It may be difficult to accept but once I learned to do, I would prove time and again that it has helped me accept similar experiences with much grace and preparedness.
Missing the blood moon on my birthday has made me realize that we are never really fully prepared for anything no matter how seemingly we think we are. There will always be surprises, little known instances that happen beneath your radar that when it manages to slip between the cracks, all previous preparations will be deemed useless. It happens but it should never get us down for long because there is so much in life that is good that we can experience and appreciate firsthand!
Look forward to those rather than be held back by unfortunate circumstances.
It is always how we spring back up from these falls that counts! It is how we find the good in the bad things that allow us to move on to other things. I was pretty bummed about the blood moon and on my birthday but I realize that there is much more to it than just being able to marvel at its awesomeness!
So rather than crying over the sun coming up replacing my birthday blood moon, I am thankful for everything that came with it -- well wishes of love, health and blessings for the next year from friends and family that came with each snapshot of the bloodied moon. Hopefully, I will get to see one for myself in the future. That would be awesome!
Happy Sunday Everyone! :)
