DAVAO CITY — The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Davao Region (RTWPB) 11 recognized exceptional micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the 2025 Productivity Olympics, held recently at a local hotel in Davao City.
The biennial event aims to award MSMEs that have demonstrated outstanding practices in productivity enhancement, employee engagement, and workplace innovation, showing how small enterprises play a big role in driving inclusive economic growth.
RTWPB 11 vice-chairperson and DEPDev 11 regional director Priscilla R. Sonido highlighted the broader impact of productivity in the region.
“What makes the Productivity Olympics distinct is that it doesn’t only look at performance. It celebrates those who strive to do better, to think differently, and to lead with purpose. Each of our winners today represents not just economic success, but a commitment to meaningful growth—growth that uplifts people, respects culture, and embraces change,” Sonido said.
Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) 11 Labor and Employment Officer III Kenneth Paul Recaña underscored how the Productivity Olympics is part of RTWPB’s mandate to promote productivity incentive schemes among MSMEs.
“We honor them because MSMEs are our inspiration, and we need to uplift their spirit. We need to recognize all the good things they do because they are the backbone of our economy. We hope that through this initiative, we can give back to the MSMEs that truly make the Philippines alive,” Recaña said.
Recaña expressed hope that more MSMEs from Davao City would participate in the 2027 Productivity Olympics, noting that their excellence deserves recognition not only for their achievements but also for the positive impact they bring to their communities. PIA DAVAO
