THE Department of Tourism-Davao Region (DOT-Davao) has registered 1,359 participants for the Davao Adventure Challenge 2024, including 372 approved challenges as of December 19.
During a PepTalks Lifestyle media forum on December 20, DOT-Davao Regional Director Tanya Rabat Tan bared that seven participants have achieved the prestigious “Ultimate Conqueror” title by earning 500 points, while 17 challengers have reached the “Top Scorer” level with 150 points.
The challenge, designed to highlight the diverse adventure destinations in the Davao Region, features activities such as hiking, water sports, diving, chasing waterfalls, cave explorations, and even thrilling heights and flights. So far, challengers have explored 11 out of the 17 featured locations, to complete all sites by the campaign’s conclusion.
To make the event even more exciting, Tan announced plans to introduce new venues and additional elements for next year’s edition. “We hope to open the Davao Adventure Challenge not just to participants from the Davao Region but also to those from other regions,” she said.
Launched on May 1, 2024, the Davao Adventure Challenge aims to promote the region’s adventure tourism while providing participants with an opportunity to earn points for rewards. By October 18, 2024, the campaign had already registered 865 challengers, 300 approved challenges, six Ultimate Conquerors, and 12 Top Scorers.
The campaign will officially end on February 28, 2025, offering participants nearly 10 months to explore the region and embrace the spirit of adventure. DEF
