WITH just days to go before the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2025 opens on Sunday, March 9, all playing venues are all set to host various competitions from March 10 to 15 in Davao del Norte.
Davao del Norte provincial sports coordinator Giovanni Gulanes shared in a previous interview with VoxPop Davao that the province consistently receives positive feedback for its sports facilities. “Delegations appreciate how accessible and well-equipped our facilities are. Most venues are close to each other, making it easier for athletes and coaches to move around,” he said.
Having last hosted the Davraa Meet in 2023, Davao del Norte is again ready to showcase its top-tier sports infrastructure.
Gulanes assured that traffic and security plans are in place to ensure a smooth and safe weeklong competition, which serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Palarong Pambansa in Laoag City.
The Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex (DNSTC) in Tagum City will be the main hub, hosting events such as archery, athletics, football, swimming, badminton, dancesport, boxing, and tennis.
Chess matches will take place at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, while the Davao del Norte Training Center will be the battleground for volleyball. City Mall Tagum will host arnis, E-Park will be the venue for baseball, and Robinsons Mall will welcome elementary boys' basketball and wrestling competitions.
For basketball, the Rotary Gym will be the stage for secondary boys’ matches, while Barangay La Filipina Gym will host secondary girls' games. The JS Gaisano Covered Court is set for the 3x3 basketball showdowns.
Other events will unfold across Tagum City: NCCC Mall will host billiards, wushu, and pencak silat; E-Park Covered Court will be the venue for futsal; Tagum City Hall Atrium will showcase gymnastics; and E-Park Football Field will hold softball matches. GMall Tagum East Wing will feature table tennis, while GMall Tagum Atrium will serve as the stage for taekwondo.
With around 9,000 athletes, coaches, staff, and officials from 11 competing delegations, Davao del Norte is set for an action-packed weeklong sportsfest, bringing together the region’s best young athletes in pursuit of victory.
