THE Justine Mae Saldua-PMaj. Michael Uyanguren case is now one of the top priorities of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and Police Regional Office (PRO) due to its element and nature after it reached the national level.
The Philippine National Police has now formed the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) Saldua to intensify the process of their investigation wherein CCTV footage of the terminal near Uyanguren’s area will be retrieved and possibly presented on Friday, October 13, during the second SITG meeting, DCPO spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon said during the AFP-PNP Press Conference on Wednesday morning, October 13.
“Gahapon nag-first meeting mi and presented the update sa kaso. Number one nga gi-instruct, from that time or before nawala ang maong alleged house help[er], kuhaon ang mga CCTV kung asa gikan tung taxi and then possible sa terminal and i-present this Friday (Yesterday we had our first meeting to present the update on the case. Number one that was instructed, from that time or before the disappearance of the alleged house helper, was to take the CCTV footage from where the taxi came from and then possibly at the terminal and present it this Friday),” Tuazon said.
To recall, the investigation revealed that the house help was accompanied by Uyanguren’s daughter outside their residence in Lubogan, Toril, and hailed a taxi cab at the dawn of August 28. Uyanguren’s daughter is now also under monitoring after the Davao police authorities received a report that Uyanguren’s daughter had unsent messages to one of the victim’s aunts regarding Saldua's whereabouts.
“Under investigation pud na sya. Kanang mga deleted messages ma-retrieve gihapon na sya with the help of cybercrime unit. Kung unsay resulta, apil na sa evidence (She is also under investigation. Those deleted messages can still be retrieved with the help of the cybercrime unit. If there is a result, it will be included in the evidence),” Tuazon added.
Currently, the relieved station commander of Toril Police Station has been housed at PRO-Davao under the Regional Personnel Administration Center while the case is ongoing and is prohibited from traveling outside the city.
It has been 41 days since Saldua, a 21-year-old house helper, was last seen and the DCPO still hopes to bring to light her whereabouts as early as possible. DEF
