THE Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) XI is the first regional office outside the National Capital Region ready to facilitate the Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE), an official said.
“The first to implement this system was the National Capital Region. However, we are proud to inform the public that Davao City is the first PRC Regional Office to be ready for CBLE,” PRC-XI finance and administrative division Officer-in-Charge Arjen C. De Los Santos revealed during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on December 10.
Located in Matina Pangi, Davao City, the CBLE testing center was inaugurated in 2023 and was first used in August 2024 for the Psychologist Licensure Examination.
The testing center is fully air-conditioned, equipped with individual cubicles with laptop computers and a stable electric source, and can accommodate at least 200 examinees.
De Los Santos explained that establishing the CBLE testing centers is among the efforts they carried out to ensure the digitalization of their services as outlined in the PRC Modernization Act of 2000.
“We have done away with the traditional paper and pencil examination. With the CBLE, examinees will only need to type in their answers on a computer,” De Los Santos said.
He emphasized that the new system not only enhances the efficiency of the testing process but also expedites the release of results, which can now be made available on the last day of examinations.
At present, De Los Santos disclosed that seven licensure examinations have been conducted using this modality, offering convenience to 283 examinees.
Moreover, as part of the digitalization efforts of the PRC, he mentioned that they are also digitalizing the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation process for professionals through their CPD Accreditation System (CPDAS).
He added that this is especially helpful to those professionals who wish to know the CPD units of their non-CPD accredited training certificate.
He explained that by simply taking a photo of a non-CPD-accredited training certificate and uploading it to the CPDAS, the system will identify whether the certificate bears CPD units and further determine its equivalent CPD value.
Also, De Los Santos said that organizations and institutions who wish to be CPD providers can apply through the CPDAS.
