BATANG Pinoy 2018 National Championships-bound Davao City boys and girls teams shared top honors at the close of the 33rd Kadayawan Beach Volleyball Tournament held at the Felis Resort Complex over the weekend.
The pair of Dux Euan Yambao and Angelo Joshua Gonzales, who will play for Davao City boys beach volleyball team in the Batang Pinoy slated September 15 to 21 in Baguio City, survived past Team Jose Maria College (JMC) A, bannered by Christopher Estose and Journe Cataag, 22-20, in the finals to clinch the boys division title of the event organized by the Davao Volleyball Association (Dava) in partnership with Felis Beach Resort and Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO).
The win came on the heels of eliminating JMC C, 21-14, in the semifinals after beating JMC B, 21-18, in the quarterfinals.
The Batang Pinoy girls team of Keith Guma and April Joy Locaberte, meanwhile, crushed Gonsaga Sinsuat (GS) pair of Khalia Sinsuat and Cheska Gonsaga, 21-13 and escaped past Trixie Segarino and Edlyn Doncillo of Brodie, 23-21.
