"EVERYTHING is right on track", Davao City administrator lawyer Zuleika Lopez said on the ongoing construction of the Davao City-UP Sports Complex in Mintal.
Lopez, during a press conference for the 2018 Davao Para Games and Philippine Sports Commission's turnover of sports equipment at the Kadayawan Hall of The Royal Mandaya Hotel Friday, July 27, said the city government of Davao has been working with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and other national agencies.
"The PSC has been very helpful in helping us expedite all infrastructure projects. The good mayor herself said the soft opening will happen during the Davraa Meet 2019 opening set last week of January," she said, assuring everyone that everything is in place given good weather conditions.
While the multi-purpose gyms and track oval are on the finishing touches, she said the aquatics center is currently on its last phase and is expected to be completed before the year ends.
Lopez added, "There is a budget for the swimming pool already, ang kulang nalang talaga implementation sked. They have assured us it will be finished on time."

Lopez and Davao City Vice Mayor Bernard Al-Ag received the donated sports equipment from PSC officer-in-charge Commissioner Arnold Agustin.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, in her message read by Lopez, thanked the PSC for the kind gesture.
"As Davao City continues to take stride in emerging as one of the prime sports hubs in the Philippines, the donated sports equipment shall be pivotal in our local governmdnt's thrust in promoting healthy environment and active community to the conduct of various athletic and recretional activities," the mayor said in her message.
