THE Crocs FC and Rogers FC shared top honors in the 1st JTs Manukan 9 Aside Cup held at the Azuela Cove football pitch in Lanang, Davao City over the weekend.
Crocs Football Club (FC) stunned early league leader Montevista, 6-5, via penalty shootout in their U15 youth championship match. Both teams were tied at zero-all at the end of regulation.
Montevista took the runner-up honors instead while Tuloy sa Davao was third and RMC-Davao United finished fourth.
Members of the mythical team were best defender Rhino Belonio (Crocs), best midfield Rusty Dela Cruz (Crocs), best striker Justin Las Pinas (Montevista), best goal keeper Yuri Jayectin (Montevista) and most valuable player Matthew Lim (Crocs).
In U11 grassroots division, Rovers FC swept all its matches to be declared the runaway champion.
Southshield, Hyenas FC and Crocs FC placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
The individual awardees: best defender Daniel Francison Pe Benito (Hyenas), best midfield Kian Nui (Rovers), best striker Joerby Aniti (Rovers), best goal keeper Zyk Lopez (Hyenas) and MVP Rafa Valente (Rovers).
Sports Amusement & Recreation Corporation (SparCorp) thanked its sponsors JTs Manukan, Azuela Cove and Coach Albert Ryan Lim for spearheading the project in line with Philippine Football Federation's grassroots and youth allocation.
