IAN Maniago scored 32 points, Royce OlanOlan dropped 19 and Topet Lacida added 17 points as the Hungry Ape posted an 106-80 win over JLP Designs in the resumption of the Bong Go Cup Inter-Commercial B basketball tournament held at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Gym Tuesday evening, July 24.
After a tight first quarter, the Hungry Ape rallied with its big three Maniago, OlanOlan and Lacida who drew big plays in the second quarter.
Hungry Ape, from a two-point lead, never looked back to complete the rout.
JLP Designs' Shane Homoc and Emerson Bentulan, who combined for 52 points, tried to recover but Hungry Ape kept its momentum.
"Hindi ko na inisip yung score, ang amin lang is to play hard kasi nakita namin na kulang sila and kulang rin kami kaya bumanat na kami," Maniago, who was named the best player of the game, said.
Sherwin Driz and Eric Dulay also chipped in 10 and nine points, respectively.
Joshua Cerbas, Sid Sotto Bernard Gutierrez and Patrick Quidato also had their share in the defensive end.
Hungry Ape will face Goldstar next week.
