

ROGEN Ladon of the Philippines is already assured of a silver medal after dominating Thailand's Yuttapong Tongdee via unanimous decision, 5-0, in their 18th Asian Games men's flyweight boxing semifinal in Jakarta, Indonesia Friday.
Judges Piroska Beki of Hungary, Hermanto Ginting Bagusmunthe of Indonesia and Zhamila Borkoeva of Kyrgyzstan all scored the bout, 30-27, while Australian Maksim Sulejmani and Algerian Athmane Lazizi each had it, 29-28, on Ladon's favor.
The 24-year-old Ladon of Negros Occidental, a bronze medalist in the 2017 Asian Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, will clash against Uzbek Jasurbek Latipov for the gold medal today.
Latipov, 26, a 2017 Asian Championships gold medalist, defeated Azat Usenaliev of Kyrgyzstan, 4-1, in the other semis encounter.
The former was also a silver winner in the 2017 World Championships, thus, Ladon will be up against a formidable opponent.
