VIRGILIO "Billy" Magdale emerged champion in the Datba Monthly Finals tournament held at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center over the weekend.
Magdale, an optometrist by profession, beat Gab Velasco via lower handicap. Both players scored identical 187 points in the step-the-ladder finals.
He topped the eight-game eliminations by hitting 1,175 pinfalls.
Velasco outclassed AJ Galendez, 199-172, and JV Flores, 170-159, to arrange a titular showdown with Magdale.
Velasco garnered 1,148 pinfalls while Galendez and Flores amassed 1,143 and 1,140, respectively.
The May champion went home with P7,000 while the next three placers received P4,000, P2,000 and P1,000.
