A MAN from Digos City bagged the champion award in this year's bancarera competition.
Aljed Sapilin bested other banca racers in the game held at Times Beach in Matina, Davao City on Saturday, August 18.
Sam Bastida from Barangay Bunawan, Davao City followed suit as 1st-runner up while Kawi Nacas grabbed the 2nd-runner up award.
None other than Special Assistant to the President Bong Go graced this year's Mindanao leg of the bancarera where he delivered a short message for the participants before the final round of the competition.
Go also awarded the winners and offered them a free tour to the Presidential Palace and a chance to watch a PBA game in Manila.
He also requested 10 fiber-glass motorboats to be given to deserving participants who were not able to reach the final round. (PR)
