UNIVERSITY of Mindanao (UM) jins ruled the Davao City Prisaa Meet 2019 taekwondo competition held over the weekend at Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP).
UM harvested a total of 15 gold medals, two silvers and one bronze while Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) won four golds, three silvers and one bronze.
The DMMA College of Southern Philippines (DCSP), meanwhile, collected three golds, four silvers and one bronze. Davao Doctors College and Emar Human Environmental College copped one gold each.
UM's golds were courtesy of Wayne Janzen Bautista (men's featherweight), Ariel Cortes (men's welterweight), April Khate Taghap (women's flyweight), Jelly Lomboy (women's bantamweight), Wendy Blanco (women's welterweight) and Bryan Tayongtong (men's poomsae category B).
The poomsae men's and mixed teams, Nierese Jane Bano (women's poomsae category A), Siena Abug (women's category B) and Patricia Joy Villejo (women's heavyweight) of UM were unopposed.
Champions Kyle Joseph Reyes (men's poomsae category A) and Anecito Roxas Jr. (men's flyweight) led RMC's medal haul as their teammates Aimar Tatad and Bea Joy Orbita were also unopposed in men's lightweight and women's middleweight, respectively.
