A VIRAL security camera video showing a brutal attack on a 15-year-old by seven young individuals on January 31, 2025, along Avanceña Street, Davao City, has prompted an investigation by the Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) at the San Pedro Police Station.
The WCPD is working to identify the perpetrators and notify their parents.
Police Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), emphasized the commitment to addressing the incident and preventing similar events.
The assault was reported by a 48-year-old woman (alias Liz), who noticed bruising on her child when the victim returned home. The victim was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and his parents began filing a formal complaint.
Seven minors were involved, with some using brass knuckles and a soft drink bottle to strike the victim's head. The victim sustained multiple bruises and wounds, and the incident was captured on a security camera, which has since gone viral on social media.
