ILOILO City Mayor Jose Espinosa III warned the unidentified perpetrators to stop making bomb threats.
Following the bomb threats sent to two schools in the city, Espinosa said he asked the local police to intensify security measures and arrest the perpetrators.
On October 2, components of an improvised explosive device (IED) were found at the Ateneo de Iloilo – Santa Maria Catholic School.
However, the local police believed that it was placed mainly to scare the public.
On Thursday, October 4, there was another bomb threat at the University of San Agustin (USA).
A certain "Felix Tan" sent a message to the school's Facebook page stating that there was a bomb placed inside the Rada Hall of USA.
Authorities declared the school is "clear and safe" by 11 a.m. Thursday.
Espinosa said that the culprits are probably making bomb threats for fun.
"They shouldn't do it here. Stop it already," Espinosa added. (Carolyn Jane Abello)
