THE Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) will issue notices to the violators of Executive Order No. 146-2017 which mandates the mandatory 2 a.m. closure to all bars and other similar establishments.
According to BPLO head Norman Tabud, there are teams currently conducting inspections to ensure these establishments observe the mandate.
Tabud said that the inspection is under the supervision of the Public Safety and Management Office (PSTMO) headed by Jeck Conlu.
After the inspection, the PTSMO will create reports and recommendations to be forwarded to BPLO.
The BPLO will be issuing Notice of Violation (NOV) to the violators and be called for the explanation. Tabud said that they will endorse the statement to the city administrator or City Legal Office for appropriate actions.
Meanwhile, before the possible revocation of establishment's business permit, they will be given a NOV to specify the violations committed.
The violator will be given 10 days to correct the deficiency or written explanation. If the violator is unable to give a response, a second notice will be issued after three days and the two days of deliberation will follow.
Tabud said that they are not only mandating the EO No. 146-2017, but all of the possible violations like the curfew for minors and smoking.
Previously, the Iloilo City Council discussed the imbalance observance of the said EO. The council received a report that some establishments were non-complaint to the mandate.
The issue was referred to the committee on police matters chaired by Councilor Joshua Alim for further study. (Carolyn Jane Abello)
