SOME 500 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials in Iloilo City attended the mass oath-taking rite led by Mayor Jose Espinosa III at Diamond Jubilee Hall recently.
Espinosa hoped the new breed of leaders will cultivate good qualities and perform well in their duties toward enhancing youth welfare and development.
"They must meet to appoint secretary and treasurer and decide the schedule of their regular monthly meeting. To be guided with the proper conduct of meeting, they need to check the Internal Rules and Procedures (IRP) with the help of barangay secretary. For annual projects to be implemented, they should know how to handle the Barangay Youth Investment Plan," City Local Government Director Ferdinand Panes said.
He added that they are set to hold one-day activity to 31 SK officials who were not able to attend the mandatory training held in May. But they need first to present an explanatory letter with a valid reason at City DILG Office at 5th floor of City Hall.
The 1,109 already attended the mandatory training out of the 1,140 elected SK officials in the city. (PR)
