MALACAÑANG on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, assured that President Rodrigo Duterte is fine.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque again denied the speculations that the President is sick.

He issued the assurance a day after Duterte mentioned in his public address that his doctor has prohibited him from drinking because his condition, Barrett's Esophagus, was "nearing stage one cancer".

Barrett's Esophagus, a condition in which the esophagus becomes damaged by acid reflux, could lead to esophageal cancer.

"So sa tingin ko po the President heeded the doctors advice. This is the reason why his health is okay," he added.

He pointed out that the President, who is still in his hometown in Davao City, has been addressing the nation weekly.

The Malacañang in Davao was established by former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. (VoxPop Philippines)
