PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte's net satisfaction rating rose to nine points and improved by one grade to a "very good" in September from a record-low "good" in June, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey released on Saturday, September 29.
The survey, conducted from September 15 to 23, found that 70 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with Duterte's performance, five percentage points higher from 65 percent recorded in June.
Sixteen percent of adult Filipinos meanwhile said they were dissatisfied with the President's performance, four percentage points lower from June's 20 percent.
Some 14 percent were ambivalent on the matter, hardly changed from 15 percent posted in June.
The SWS poll results brought Duterte's net satisfaction score to "very good" +54, showing an increase by nine points and an improvement by one grade from his personal record-low of "good" +45 in June.
The nine-percentage rise in Duterte's net satisfaction rating was due to increases of 16 points in Balance Luzon ("good +49 from "good" +33), two points each in the Visayas ("good" +49 from "good" +47) and in Metro Manila ("good +36 from "good" +34), and one point in Mindanao ("excellent" +77 from +76).
Duterte's net satisfaction in rural areas stayed "very good" at +62, up by 10 points from +52 in June.
On the other hand, the President retained a "good" net satisfaction in urban areas, from June's +38 to September's +42.
Duterte, however, suffered net satisfaction declines by 25 points and seven points in Classes ABC and E, prompting a drop by one grade to "good" +41 and +45 from "very good" +66 and +52, respectively.
His net satisfaction in Class D nevertheless rose from "good" +43 to "very good" +56.
Duterte likewise enjoyed an improved net satisfaction to "very good" from "good" among men (+55 from +46) and women (+53 from +45).
His net satisfaction also rose from "good" to "very good" among age groups 25 to 34 (+59 from +43), 35 to 44 (+54 from +46), 45 to 54 (+56 from +47), and 55 and older (+50 from +44).
The President's net satisfaction fell from June's "very good" +50 to September "good" +49 among age group 18 to 24.
Among elementary graduates, Duterte's net satisfaction rose to "very good" +59, higher by 19 points from "good" +40 in June.
He retained a net rating of "very good" among non-elementary school graduates (+54 from +52), and "good" both among college graduates (+54 from +52) and among high school graduates (+49 from +46).
The same survey showed that 83 percent found Duterte's earlier remark about "stupid" God as "vulgar."
Some 63 percent likewise believed that Duterte made a "vulgar" statement when he previously attributed the many rape cases in Davao City to the many beautiful women living there.
The SWS noted that Duterte's net satisfaction was a "good" +47 and +47, respectively, among those who found the Chief Executive's pronouncements as offensive.
SWS interviewed 1,500 adult respondents using sampling error margins of ±3 percentage points for national percentages, ±4 percentage points for Balance Luzon, and ±6 percentage points each for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. (VoxPop Philippines)
