MORE than 20 million doses of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) have now been delivered to the Philippines, with the Covax Facility sending 2.028 million doses of the AstraZeneca viral vector vaccine on Friday, July 9, 2021.
The new shipment completed the Covax commitment of 4.584 million doses of AstraZeneca and 2,472,210 doses of the Pfizer mRNA vaccine for the first half of 2021.
Together with the 1,124,100 doses donated by Japan on July 8, the Philippines has received a total of 5,708,100 doses of AstraZeneca.
Including the other vaccines delivered as of July 9, the Philippines has received a total of 20,609,910 doses.
Aside from the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines, the Philippines also received 12 million doses of Sinovac, 249,600 doses of Moderna and 180,000 doses of Sputnik V.
These included the one million doses of Sinovac donated by China and the 99,600 doses of Moderna procured by the private sector through the government.
The rest were procured by the national government.
