MALACAÑANG on Monday, October 29, assured the public that the Duterte government has prepared security measures in the upcoming observance of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
"We are all systems go for the coming All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day," Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement on Monday night.
All Saints' Day and All Soul Day have been observed in the Philippines on November 1 and 2, respectively.
Panelo noted that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has already deployed more than 3,000 personnel and started clearing the roads leading to cemeteries.
The Philippine National Police, meanwhile, will deploy over 30,000 police personnel nationwide to ensure public safety and security this weekend, the Palace official added.
Panelo said the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has also begun its regular bus terminal inspection for the commuters' safety.
He added that the LTFRB together with the Land Transportation Office, has also facilitated the roadworthiness check and validation of drivers' licenses.
Panelo urged the public to cooperate with the government in its efforts to have a "solemn and orderly" observance of the annual Filipino tradition.
"The government will be doing its part but we also ask the public for cooperation to ensure that we will have a solemn and orderly observance of this Filipino tradition," he said. (VoxPop Philippines)
