PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has sacked all members of the board and management of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF), which over a property lease contract that is considered "grossly disadvantageous to the government."
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a press briefing aired live on the Presidential Communications Facebook page Tuesday, August 7, that the papers that will formally terminate the entire management and board of NPF will be issued in due time.
Roque said Duterte announced his decision in Monday's (August 6) Cabinet meeting, wherein the President "expressed his exasperations that corruption continues even in his administration."
NPF is a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Department of Tourism. It was established in 1969 "to showcase the diversity of Philippine culture and heritage through its cultural and tourism-oriented theme park located in Pasay City adjacent to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport," its website stated.
