THE Lapu-Lapu City Government will close the road that covers the route of the procession for the Señor Santo Niño going to Virgen dela Regla National Shrine on January 20.
For the first time, Lapu-Lapu will be the starting point for the fluvial procession on that day.
The image of the Santo Niño will be brought to Lapu-Lapu from the National Shrine of Saint Joseph in Mandaue City.
From Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu Mayor Paz Radaza will receive the religious icon at the foot of the Mandaue Mactan Bridge in Lapu-Lapu side.
A procession will start from there and will pass on M. L. Quezon Highway, G. Y. Dela Serna Street, and right turn to S. Osmeña Street going to the Virgen dela Regla Shrine where a mass will be held before the fluvial procession.
After the mass, the Santo Niño will be brought to the Naval Base Rafael Ramos where the icon of the child Jesus will be placed in the galleon for the fluvial procession going to Cebu City.
Radaza said party poppers and firecrackers will not be allowed on the route of the procession. (VoxPop Cebu)
