1-hour rotational brownouts in Cebu set on Aug. 16

THE Visayan Electric Company (Veco) has announced that it will be implementing one-hour rotating brownouts Wednesday afternoon, August 16.

Veco said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines issued a red alert warning for power generation deficiency in the Visayas.

The power deficiency is a result of the temporary unavailability of a generating unit from the Toledo Power Plant and congestion in the Cebu Negros Submarine Cable.

The power interruptions will last until 5 p.m. of same day.
